SCO Summit 2022 in Uzbekistan:: Preparations have been completed for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Uzbekistan. The SCO meeting is going to be held on 15 and 16 September in the city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Uzbekistan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit on September 15 and 16. During this, he will meet many big leaders including Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi will visit at the invitation of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to attend the 22nd meeting of the Heads of State of the SCO Council.

PM Modi to meet Putin, Jinping

SCO Summit 2022 will be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. During this, all eyes will be on PM Modi’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russia’s Vladimir Putin. During the summit, PM Modi can meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. There is a possibility of a bilateral meeting between PM Modi and the Chinese President on the sidelines of the summit.

What is SCO?

The extension form of SCO is Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was established in the year 2001. It was founded in Shanghai by Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic. This organization mainly focuses on regional security issues and development. India became an observer in the SCO in 2005 and joined Pakistan in 2017.

What is the agenda of SCO Summit 2022?

In the SCO Summit 2022, the issue of Russia-Ukraine War will be included in the important agenda. The geopolitical crisis created by the attack on Ukraine by Russian troops is expected to be discussed. Both sides suffered heavy losses in the war. The food crisis has also deepened due to the war. PM Modi and the President of Uzbekistan can take some important and concrete initiatives together with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the issue of war in Ukraine. With this, important discussions about trade between Central Asian countries are possible.
