Pakistan in SCO Summit: Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the Shanghai summit in Uzbekistan on Thursday. Putin said that his country can supply gas to Pakistan and the necessary infrastructure is already in place.
“The issue is the supply of pipeline gas from Russia to Pakistan, which is possible, which means that a part of the infrastructure has already been built… The Afghan issue has to be resolved. Sharif met the President of Uzbekistan
Sharif also held a meeting with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of the SCO meeting and discussed issues of mutual interest to the two countries. He also met with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahman and discussed various topics of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, including regional and international issues.
Pakistan’s foreign minister was also present
Pak PM Sharif also met Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko. Prime Minister Sharif is accompanied by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif in Samarkand.
