Treason Charges On PAK PM: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has been accused of treason. A demand has also been made to prosecute them. The assembly of Pakistan’s Punjab province has passed a resolution with a majority against Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. In this, there has been a demand for treason trial for consulting his fugitive elder brother Nawaz Sharif regarding the appointment of the new army chief.

Punjab Parliamentary Affairs Minister Basharat Raja introduced a motion in the House demanding action against Prime Minister Sharif under Article 6 (sedition) of the Constitution. Punjab is ruled by former Prime Minister Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and its ally PMLQ.

The resolution passed said that the prime minister had consulted a fugitive Nawaz Sharif in London a few days ago regarding the appointment of a new army chief, who has been the prime minister of Pakistan three times. According to the resolution, this advice is a violation of the Prime Minister’s oath not to share sensitive information with unrelated people, but also an insult to an institution like the army.
