Mexico City Earthquake: A massive earthquake has occurred in Mexico for the second time in four days. The magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 6.8 on the Richter scale. The highest earthquake tremors were felt in the capital, Mexico City. According to the Civil Protection Agency of Mexico, there was a severe earthquake three days ago as well. Two people were killed and ten were injured in Monday’s earthquake. Reports put the magnitude of that earthquake at 7.6. About two hundred buildings were reported to have been damaged by the earthquake.

In another tweeted video, cars are seen shaking badly due to the earthquake.

According to the US Geological Survey, the quake’s epicenter was 15 kilometers below ground, near the Michoacan border with Colima on the west coast. Following the quake, the US Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami warning off the coast of Mexico as ocean waves rose 3 to 9 feet.

Earth shaken on the anniversary of the earthquake

A devastating earthquake struck Mexico on 19 September 2017 and killed more than 300 people. According to reports, a school prayer was being held in memory of some students who lost their lives on the anniversary of the earthquake, when the earth started shaking. Five years later, on the very same day, there was a terrible earthquake again.

It is also a strange coincidence that the date of September 19 will be remembered not for two earthquakes, but for three, because on this day in 1985 also there was an earthquake in Mexico. People are curious to know what could be the reason behind the earthquake on the same date three times, but scientists have termed it as a mere coincidence.
